Blake is an awesome 4 year old with lots to say! He asks a ton of questions and is always taking in the world around him. He loves to sing songs and drive matchbox cars, follow his brother around, hug his baby sister and is constantly telling us that he “loves us so so much”. He is a happy kid with a wonderful disposition almost all the time.

Blake was born full term with no problems detected during the pregnancy. His inability to eat properly became evident very quickly and before 6 months of age he had an NG tube, ND tube and finally a G Tube and Nissen placed to aid in his digestion. Other problems followed leading to 9 surgeries and 20+ sedated procedures. He has recently been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease, stage 1, and we are awaiting our first admission to the National Institute of Health’s Undiagnosed Disease Program. Hopefully they will be able to link his health issues to one common cause and create a health care plan that will benefit him significantly in the long run.

Blake starts Pre-K in the fall and I know he will do beautifully! He has a love for learning and is such a joy to be around. He makes friends easily and I’m sure he will be the talk of the 4 year old class with his funny jokes and silly faces. I can’t wait to see his grow in this coming up year!

Although the past few years have been hard, I am always amazing by Blake’s perseverance, his strength and his courage in scary moments. He is such a blessing and we are so thankful to have him in our lives!
