Warrior Wednesdays: Building Community, One Connection at a Time
At Better2gether, our mission is rooted in supporting families facing some of life’s toughest challenges. That mission became deeply personal through a program started by Jenn, our dedicated Family Navigator, called Warrior Wednesdays. Jenn created this space to bring together parents of children with rare and chronic illnesses for connection, comfort, and support.
What began as a simple monthly coffee meet-up on the second Wednesday of each month has blossomed into something far more powerful. Warrior Wednesdays offers a safe, welcoming place where parents can build relationships, share resources, and spend time among people who truly understand the unique journey they’re on. Parenting a child with a rare or chronic illness can feel isolating, and this gathering helps break down that loneliness with real human connection.
But what Jenn—and all of us—didn’t expect was how meaningful this space would become—not only for the families who attend but for Jenn personally. Warrior Wednesdays has evolved from a casual meet-up into a lifeline—a sacred space of trust, healing, and hope.
Just last month, Jenn sat with a parent who courageously shared their fears and heartbreak. In that moment, Jenn was reminded that her role isn’t just to organize these gatherings—it’s to walk beside these families as a steady, compassionate presence through their storms. Warrior Wednesdays is a place where vulnerability is honored and comfort is real.
Though the group is small, its impact is profound. It is a refuge amidst the chaos and a bridge of trust between Better2gether and the families we serve. This program exemplifies what our organization is all about: not just providing services, but building relationships, earning trust, and changing lives—one conversation, one cup of coffee, one connection at a time.
Why do you attend Warrior Wednesdays?
"Because I need a moment that’s just for me. In the middle of life’s demands, having this time set aside feels like a rare and precious gift. Knowing I can come to a space where I’m supported and understood means everything. Warrior Wednesdays remind me that I matter too."

”Give it a try. There’s no pressure, no obligation—just a safe, welcoming space created for you. Whether you listen, share, or just show up, you might find a new friend, fresh hope, or valuable resources. And yes, the snacks and drinks are a bonus!” — Bridgette Claiborne, B2g Mom
Bridgette shares:
"I attend Warrior Wednesdays because it’s a place where I can connect with other moms who truly understand the ups and downs of raising children with complex medical needs. The fellowship, conversations, and great food keep me coming back."
"This group has been a source of encouragement, especially during the hard seasons. It’s a space where I can be myself, share openly, and know I’m surrounded by people who ‘get it.’ It’s a reminder that it truly takes a village—and this is a village worth being part of."
