One such partner is Byrd Property Management, led by Morgan Porter, who has been a loyal sponsor of the Better2gether Golf Tournament for multiple years.
Morgan first connected with Better2gether through his networking group at TwoTwelve. The decision to get involved came easily, he says:
“It’s hard to turn your back on sick children, so we had to help in some small way.”
Why Better2gether
What stood out to Morgan and his team was the unique role Better2gether plays in the community. While many organizations focus on children with cancer or other well-known illnesses, Better2gether fills a critical gap—supporting families whose children face rare and chronic conditions. This distinct mission resonated deeply with Byrd Property Management and inspired them to lend their support.

“Those times make it even more real and remind us why we participate,” Morgan shares.

“Better2gether steps in at a critical time for families. I couldn’t imagine having one of my kids sick and how that would take my attention from everything. We’d need help to say the least. I’m glad we can contribute in some way to families in that critical moment.”
He also notes that business support is increasingly vital as nonprofits face reduced donations and funding cuts.
“Businesses have to step up and fill the growing need. Non-profits like Better2gether fill a critical role in society and they can’t do it without our support.”
