Creating Connection for Siblings and Dads

At Better2gether, we know that supporting a child with a rare or chronic illness means supporting the entire family. That’s why we’re continuing to expand opportunities for siblings and dads to connect, share experiences, and build community through our Sibs2gether and Dads2gether programs. 

Sibs2gether gives siblings a space of their own to connect with other kids who understand the unique experience of having a brother or sister with complex medical needs. The program launched earlier this year with a special kickoff Bowling event, followed by a Sibshop and a recreational gathering at Peak Experiences. Each event has provided siblings with opportunities to have fun, build friendships, and connect with others who understand their unique experiences. We’re excited to continue creating meaningful opportunities for siblings to feel seen, supported, and understood. 

Dads2gether is also building momentum! The program launched with a fun gathering at Drive Shack, followed by a hands-on woodworking event. Both events created a relaxed, welcoming space for dads to meet others who understand their journey, enjoy time together, and build connections beyond the responsibilities of caregiving. 

Way to go, Addie!

A big shoutout to Addie for completing July’s Sibs2gether Buddy System Mission! This month’s challenge invited siblings to share their favorite summer activity with their sibling who has medical complexities—and Addie jumped right in. 

The Buddy System is all about helping siblings feel seen, supported, and connected while celebrating the special bond they share with their brother or sister. Every mission is an opportunity to build confidence, create memories, and remind siblings that they’re an important part of the Better2gether community.
