Volunteer Spotlight: Peter Rorvig – Bringing Financial Expertise and Passion to Better2gether
Better2gether is thrilled to welcome Peter Rorvig as a new member of our Board of Directors. Peter, a Senior Financial Analyst on the Strategy and M&A team at Dominion Energy, brings a strong background in accounting and finance to our organization. Before joining the board, he was an active member of Better2gether’s finance committee, playing a vital role in helping us plan for sustainable growth.
For Peter, the decision to deepen his involvement with Better2gether was driven by a personal desire to give back to the community. “The mission of Better2gether resonated with me, and I saw an opportunity to use my professional skillset to support an organization that makes a real difference for local families,” he shared.
What excites Peter most about his role is the opportunity to witness firsthand the impact of Better2gether’s programs. “Hearing from families about how the organization has helped them navigate challenges is truly inspiring. Many families of children with medical complexities struggle to access the support and resources they need, and Better2gether fills that gap in an invaluable way.”
One initiative that stands out to Peter is Better2gether’s Family Navigator Program, which provides families with guidance and emotional support as they navigate complex medical systems and access essential resources. “Having someone available to walk families through such an overwhelming experience is incredibly important. It can make all the difference for families facing these difficult journeys,” he noted.
Looking ahead, Peter is excited to contribute to Better2gether’s continued growth. “I want to help ensure we are not only maintaining but expanding our reach. By growing our support and resources, we can positively impact even more families who need our help.”
