Spotlight on Stefani Crumley: A Passion for Giving Back and Supporting Families Through Better2gether

At Better2gether, our work is only possible through the dedication of volunteers who share their time, energy, and talents to support families of children with complex medical conditions. This month, we are celebrating volunteer Stefani Crumley, whose work on our Program Committee is making a positive impact on the lives of children and families.

Stefani has been a proud Richmond resident since 2006. A wife to Jeremy, mom to Abigayle (19) and Chase (13), and full-time Internal Communications Manager at Allianz Partners, she juggles a busy life while still finding time to make a difference. At Allianz, Stefani has organized corporate social responsibility efforts like volunteering and community sponsorships—a passion she has carried into her work with Better2gether.

Her journey with Better2gether began when her colleague, Michelle Marshall-Haren (a Better2gether Board Member), introduced her to the organization last year. Learning about our mission and meeting the team sparked her desire to get involved. Having a husband and son diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome, a rare genetic condition, Stefani has first-hand experiences navigating complex medical challenges. While every family’s circumstances are unique, Stefani deeply empathizes with the struggles all families face, and she felt compelled to support others.

As part of the Program Committee, she has helped plan the upcoming holiday party and spearheaded an initiative for her colleagues to “adopt” children supported by Better2gether, fulfilling their holiday wish lists. Thanks to Stefani’s leadership and her coworkers’ generosity, every child on the list will receive gifts this season. As a special treat, Stefani and her Church’s Bell Choir will be playing bells at the Better2gether holiday party this year.

Volunteering has always been part of Stefani’s life. From her days as a “candy striper” at a veterans’ home to her current community involvement, she has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to helping others. “If there is a way I can help or make an impact, I want to do it,” Stefani shares. “My husband and I have tried to instill this in our children, as well.”

“There’s nothing better than the feeling of helping others,” she says. “I’ve been energized by contributing to Better2gether’s efforts and can’t wait to see what’s next!”
